This past weekend I had the pleasure of hosting an OPEN HOUSE. The first thing that caught my attention when I walked in was this antique chandelier hanging in the dining room. It is without a doubt a center piece intended to complement a beautiful dining table with fine china settings making it easy for the hosts to keep all the gossip in it’s place. While the candlelit bulbs and crystal jewels illuminated meals for countless dinner parties over the years.
It now hangs in a empty home awaiting the next chapter but will it survive? With the remodel-it trend going on in today’s real estate market I wonder if the new home owners will find value in such a unique piece. The comments from the open house visitors ranged from “that’s got to go” to “that would be gorgeous if it was re-done” but no one mentioned keeping it as is.
What would you do?
